CQB2-40 Miniature Circuit Breaker
The CQB2-40 miniature circuit breaker provides overload and short-circuit protection within the published 10A–40A range. Its verified product data lists 4.5kA Icn, 1P+N and B / C / D. Final selection must match the conductor, load, prospective fault current, installation system and applicable local rules.
Product Overview
CQB2-40 is a 4.5kA Icn miniature circuit breaker covering 10A–40A. It is available with 1P+N and B / C / D trip options as stated in the product data.
The model data references IEC 60898-1; GB/T 10963.1 and lists CCC certification. Standards, certification scope and technical documents must be confirmed for the ordered configuration and destination market.
Key Features
Typical Applications
It is intended for AC distribution circuits where the selected current rating, curve, pole arrangement and breaking capacity match the conductor and system study. Typical project contexts include residential, commercial and light-industrial final distribution; suitability depends on the actual circuit rather than the application label alone.
Applications and Selection Guide
Use the product-specific values below as a shortlist, then validate the complete circuit design. Product ratings do not replace a fault-current study, conductor calculation, coordination review or applicable installation rules.
| Selection point | CQB2-40 option | What the project must confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Rated current | 10A–40A | Coordinate with design current, conductor ampacity, ambient temperature and grouping |
| Trip curve | B / C / D | Choose for load inrush and required fault-clearing performance, not by current alone |
| Breaking capacity | 4.5kA Icn | Confirm against the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point |
| Pole arrangement | 1P+N | Match supply system and local switching or isolation rules |
| Installation interface | DIN-rail installation | Check enclosure, rail/base, terminal and conductor compatibility |
Breaking Capacity
4.5kA Icn is the published product value. Confirm the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point.
Trip and Load Behaviour
B / C / D is the available trip/protection option. Match it to load inrush and required disconnection performance.
Pole Configuration
Available arrangement: 1P+N. Confirm which conductors must be switched and protected under local rules.
MCB or RCBO
An MCB does not replace residual-current protection where an RCD or RCBO is required.
Ordering Guide
- Specify the exact model: CQB2-40.
- State the required current rating within 10A–40A.
- Confirm pole arrangement: 1P+N.
- Confirm trip or protection option: B / C / D.
- Provide system voltage, expected fault level, destination market, quantity and any document requirements.
Installation and Coordination Checks
- Verify conductor material and cross-section against the circuit calculation and the published terminal range.
- Confirm the prospective short-circuit current does not exceed the applicable breaking rating.
- Check upstream/downstream coordination, enclosure temperature, grouping, altitude and required clearances.
- Installation, isolation, testing and maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel under applicable rules.

CQB2-40 Product FAQ
What is a 1P+N miniature circuit breaker?
A 1P+N device switches the phase and neutral together while the protected pole arrangement follows the product design. CQB2-40 is a compact 230V AC, 1P+N MCB for overload and short-circuit protection within its published 10A–40A range.
Is a 1P+N breaker the same as a 2P breaker?
Not necessarily. The switching and protection arrangements can differ even though both devices occupy two conductor positions. Confirm which poles are protected and switched, plus the neutral and isolation requirements of the project.
What does the CQB2-40 miniature circuit breaker protect?
It protects against overload and short circuit. It does not provide residual-current protection, so a separate RCD or a suitable RCBO must be evaluated when leakage protection is required.
How does the CQB2-40 MCB trip?
Its thermal element responds to sustained overcurrent and its magnetic mechanism responds to higher fault current. The available B, C and D curves have different instantaneous-trip behavior and must be matched to load inrush and fault conditions.
Why choose a compact 1P+N MCB?
A compact 1P+N arrangement can support linked phase-and-neutral switching in a single-phase distribution design. Selection still depends on system rules, enclosure space, 4.5kA Icn suitability and the exact circuit requirements.
Can the CQB2-40 be used in every market?
No product should be assumed acceptable in every market. CQB2-40 references IEC 60898-1 and GB/T 10963.1, with CCC listed; the buyer must confirm the required approval, documentation and local installation rules for the destination.
