Product Overview

FB2L-63 is a plug-in residual current circuit breaker with integral overcurrent protection for 240V AC systems. It combines C-curve overload and short-circuit protection with Type AC, 30mA residual-current protection. It should be selected as an RCBO, not as an MCB with implied leakage protection.

The model data references IEC 61009-1. Standards, certification scope and technical documents must be confirmed for the ordered configuration and destination market.

Applications and Selection Guide

Use the product-specific values below as a shortlist, then validate the complete circuit design. Product ratings do not replace a fault-current study, conductor calculation, coordination review or applicable installation rules.

Selection point FB2L-63 option What the project must confirm
Protection function Overload, short circuit and residual current Do not substitute an MCB where residual-current protection is required
Residual-current data Type AC; IΔn 30mA; IΔm 2,000A Confirm waveform type and sensitivity against the circuit and local rules
Rated current and curve 10A–50A; C curve Coordinate with conductor ampacity and load inrush
Fault interruption 6kA Icu = Ics Prospective short-circuit current must not exceed the applicable rating
Board fit Plug-in mounting Confirm compatible base, dimensions, connection arrangement and maintenance space

Breaking Capacity

6kA Icu = Ics is the published product value. Confirm the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point.

Ordering Guide

  1. Specify the exact model: FB2L-63.
  2. State the required current rating within 10A–50A.
  3. Confirm pole arrangement: 1P+N.
  4. Confirm trip or protection option: C.
  5. Provide system voltage, expected fault level, destination market, quantity and any document requirements.

Installation and Coordination Checks

  • Verify conductor material and cross-section against the circuit calculation and the published terminal range.
  • Confirm the prospective short-circuit current does not exceed the applicable breaking rating.
  • Check upstream/downstream coordination, enclosure temperature, grouping, altitude and required clearances.
  • Installation, isolation, testing and maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel under applicable rules.

FB2L-63 Product FAQ

Why are Type AC RCDs restricted in some markets?

Some markets restrict Type AC devices for circuits where modern electronic loads can produce residual-current waveforms they are not designed to detect. Requirements vary, so check the destination rules and connected equipment.

What is a Type AC RCBO?

A Type AC RCBO is intended to respond to residual sinusoidal alternating current while also providing overcurrent protection. FB2L-63 publishes Type AC, 30mA IΔn, C curve and 1P+N.

Can Type AC RCBOs still be used?

That depends on the jurisdiction, installation date, circuit and load. Do not assume universal acceptance; confirm that Type AC is permitted and technically suitable for the expected residual-current waveform.

Are Type AC RCBOs banned everywhere?

No global statement is accurate. Rules differ by country and application. The buyer must verify local requirements before specifying FB2L-63 for the destination market.

When should a Type A RCBO be considered instead?

Type A may be required where pulsating DC residual components from electronic equipment are expected or where local rules specify it. Select an independently verified Type A product rather than treating Type AC as equivalent.

Should an existing Type AC RCD or RCBO be replaced?

Replacement should follow an assessment of local requirements, connected loads, condition and coordination. A qualified person should decide; the FB2L-63 product page should not be used as a universal replacement instruction.
