CQB58 Safety Breaker
The CQB58 safety breaker provides overload and short-circuit protection within the published 10A / 15A / 20A / 30A / 40A range. Its verified product data lists 1.5kA rated short-time current, 2P1E fixed and Thermal overload trip. Final selection must match the conductor, load, prospective fault current, installation system and applicable local rules.
Product Overview
CQB58 is a fixed 2P1E safety breaker for 230V AC circuits. The available ratings are 10A / 15A / 20A / 30A / 40A, with a thermal overload trip and a published 1.5kA rated short-time current. That value is retained as stated and is not described as a universal or high breaking-capacity rating.
The model data references IEC/EN 60898-1. Standards, certification scope and technical documents must be confirmed for the ordered configuration and destination market.
Key Features
Typical Applications
The fixed pole arrangement and top connection make model compatibility part of the selection decision. Verify load current, conductor size, enclosure arrangement, fault level and the destination market's installation requirements before use.
Applications and Selection Guide
Use the product-specific values below as a shortlist, then validate the complete circuit design. Product ratings do not replace a fault-current study, conductor calculation, coordination review or applicable installation rules.
| Selection point | CQB58 option | What the project must confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Circuit arrangement | 2P1E fixed | The fixed 2P1E configuration is not interchangeable with every 2P device |
| Current rating | 10A / 15A / 20A / 30A / 40A | Select from the published ratings after checking conductor and design current |
| Trip function | Thermal overload trip | Confirm required short-circuit protection and coordination separately |
| Short-time current | 1.5kA rated short-time current | Do not interpret this value as suitable for every fault level |
| Connection | Top connection; fixed 2P1E arrangement | Observe the published cable and terminal-torque limits |
Breaking Capacity
1.5kA rated short-time current is the published product value. Confirm the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point.
Trip and Load Behaviour
Thermal overload trip is the available trip/protection option. Match it to load inrush and required disconnection performance.
Pole Configuration
Available arrangement: 2P1E fixed. Confirm which conductors must be switched and protected under local rules.
MCB or RCBO
An MCB does not replace residual-current protection where an RCD or RCBO is required.
Ordering Guide
- Specify the exact model: CQB58.
- State the required current rating within 10A / 15A / 20A / 30A / 40A.
- Confirm pole arrangement: 2P1E fixed.
- Confirm trip or protection option: Thermal overload trip.
- Provide system voltage, expected fault level, destination market, quantity and any document requirements.
Installation and Coordination Checks
- Verify conductor material and cross-section against the circuit calculation and the published terminal range.
- Confirm the prospective short-circuit current does not exceed the applicable breaking rating.
- Check upstream/downstream coordination, enclosure temperature, grouping, altitude and required clearances.
- Installation, isolation, testing and maintenance must be carried out by qualified personnel under applicable rules.

CQB58 Product FAQ
What is a two-pole circuit breaker?
A two-pole device operates two conductors together. CQB58 has a fixed 2P1E arrangement, so the buyer must confirm exactly which conductor is protected and how both conductors are switched in the intended system.
Does 2P1E mean the same as a standard double-pole MCB?
Not automatically. 2P1E identifies the published pole-and-element arrangement of CQB58. Do not assume identical protection in both poles without confirming the product diagram and application requirements.
What does kA mean on a circuit breaker?
kA normally describes short-circuit interrupting capacity, but CQB58 currently publishes a 1.5kA rated short-time-current value. That wording must not be re-labelled as a verified high breaking-capacity claim.
Would a higher kA rating make CQB58 a better choice?
A higher verified interrupting rating can suit a higher prospective fault level, but selection still depends on the complete system. For CQB58, use the exact published short-time-current data and confirm suitability with the project designer.
Will a breaker trip as soon as it reaches its rated current?
Not necessarily. CQB58 uses a thermal overload trip, so response depends on overcurrent magnitude, duration and reference conditions. The rated current should not be interpreted as an instantaneous-trip threshold.
How do I choose the correct CQB58 safety breaker?
Confirm 230V AC suitability, the fixed 2P1E arrangement, the required 10A–40A rating, fault level, top connection, conductor limit, enclosure and applicable installation rules before ordering.
Confirm the Right CQB58 Configuration
Send your current rating, pole arrangement, trip option, system voltage, prospective fault level, destination market and quantity. CHAC will review the request against the published product range.
